Mike Okonkwo National Essay Competition for High School Students 2021. There has been an announcement of the winners of the 16th national Mike Okonkwo essay competition for secondary school students in Nigeria.
In addition to raising the bar in the country’s education sector, the competition, which is part of Dr. Mike Okonkwo’s Corporate Social Responsibility, aims to encourage and allow students to think critically while also highlighting their ability to think critically about issues as they develop in their own world.
It is part of the festivities of Dr. Mike Okonkwo’s 74th birthday as the Chairman Bishop of The Redeemed Evangelical Mission that this essay competition is being held (TREM).
The theme for this year’s competition is justice as a weapon for long-term peace in developing countries, which is a novel concept.
The competition has helped students develop successful problem-solving thinking processes over the years. For more than a decade, Mike Okonkwo’s National Essay Contest has been developing and honoring the writing abilities of Nigerian students for the advancement of the country.

As in previous years, Mike Okonkwo National Essay Competition winner has benefits in three types;
- the Star Winner school has received three sets of desktops and a printer while the student goes home with a trophy, a laptop, a badge, and a N100,000 gift.
- The first runner-up school receives two sets of desktops and a printer, and the student goes home with a cash prize of N75,000 and a badge.
- The second runner-up receives a desktop computer while the student receives a badge and a cash prize of N50,000.
